Description: Working with mesh bodies can be very frustrating. Most engineering CAD software has limited mesh functionality; in many cases none at all. A common solution is to convert the mesh into a solid body, but even that is a tricky proposition. Fusion 360 already has the ability to convert mesh bodies into B-rep bodies as long as they had relatively low poly counts or were prismatic shapes. With the addition of the Product Design Extension, you can now convert “organic” mesh bodies as well. This is especially useful for highly detailed non-prismatic shapes but can also be used to convert scan data into a B-rep body. It even allows you to convert mesh bodies into T-spline bodies for further editing.
